THE DISTURBING TRENDS OF MR. JAMES WELCH

Mr. James Welch is currently the Democratic candidate for State Senate in the Hampden District. He has been a state representative since 2004. 

Corruption has been an all too common theme with people in power positions on Beacon Hill. The last three speakers of the house have all been indicted federally and investigated. And even the liberal rag - The Boston Globe, published the article below, explaining how State Representative Thomas Petrolati, D-Ludlow, is the "king of patronage" in the court system.

After reading this revealing article, I looked into - for myself - the records of many candidates running for office this year to see if I could find correlation. And I did. The following are similar donations, that look all too much like patronage - from numerous employees of the State of Massachusetts. Look over the following cases, and judge for yourself.

"Trace the money" has been a common theme in corruption trials of either party, Democrat or Republican. That's what I've done - traced the money. And it looks all too much that Mr. Petrolati is not the only one at the benefit of power in Western Massachusetts.

Make the decision for yourself. Read all of the entries - especially the last one. These are facts directly from the Office of Campaign Finance's Public records. I can't make this stuff up. Since occupations aren't listed for many donors, there's no telling how many of the donors to these respective campaigns are court employees. But here are the examples of those that are.

Before voting for Mr. Welch on November 2nd, carefully consider if this type of behavior is what you want as your State Senator.

Like Ms. Meara, Mr. Decours resides in East Springfield, outside of the districts of Mr. Welch and Mr. Petrolati. In 2005, Mr. Decours was a worker at the Department of Youth Services. Since his donations, he has been promoted to a court officer, and most recently, to supervisor of Community Corrections.

Mr. Decours donated $850.00 to Mr. Welch, and $1,950.00 to Mr. Petrolati.

CASE: MR. JAMES LYONS, OF WEST SPRINGFIELD

Mr. Lyons is one of the most prolific donors to all campaigns. As a chief probation officer at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, he has donated tens thousands of dollars to political campaigns. While living in West Springfield, outside of Mr. Petrolati's district, many contributions have indeed been made to Mr. Petrolati.

He has given Mr. Welch $800.00.

He has given Mr. Petrolati a staggering $2,825.00. Note again - that he does not reside in Mr. Petrolati's district.

As further evidence of patronage, Mr. Lyons has also given to the PAC for the Civil Rights of Unborn Children, a pro-life action group, while giving thousands of dollars to politicians that have consistently stated their positions as pro-choice.
